Frequently-Asked Questions

What is Music Haven?

Music Haven is a Ghanaian music school that offers one on one training sessions for voice and musical instruments, training to write the written and practical ABRSM international music examinations as well as offering tutoring services for schools and other institutions.

What criteria must I satisfy to enroll in classes?

All you need is the passion for music and the dedication to give your instrument your time. People from all ages can attend with no musical background at all. We usually accept children from four years onwards.

What is the duration of the lessons?

The duration of each individual lesson is approximately 1 hour. But the lessons don’t end in the classroom. To be able to fully master an instrument you need to practice, so we ensure you have enough work to do on your own to internalize everything you learn in class.

How soon can I master an instrument?

Mastering an instrument can take a lifetime; but with diligent practice within 2 months most people are able to play basic songs on any instrument.

Are there any associated certifications with my courses at Music Haven?

Yes. We prepare students for both the theory and practical examinations by ABRSM (the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music).

How long has Music Haven been in existence?

Music Haven has been operating since 2015.

Do I need to own a music instrument?

No. You do not need to own your own instrument. But to be able to effectively learn and practice an instrument you need to have constant access to one. You can come to our facilities for practice time, e.g. practice on one of our Content Organs. We highly recommend that you have your own music instrument.

What days do you have classes?

Our individual training sessions are from Monday to Saturday each week. The only day we do not have standard classed on is Sunday. we are open during normal business hours each day.

Are you open on weekends?

We are open on Saturdays but not Sundays. Our Saturday working hours are from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
