Mr. Ananda Glover-Akpey has over 30 years of music performance experience in the classical, gospel, jazz, African, and popular music genres. He was the piano accompanist and one of the musical directors for the Pirates of Penzance opera production at the Ghana National Theatre in October 2017. His last musical tour was with a six-piece band on board two ships from Princess Cruises for eight months in 2009 to 2010.
He studied piano under Pamela Jacot-Descombes, Hazel Kukorelly, Beethoven Akotia, Philip Beeko, Nyamafo Chapman Nyaho, William Chapman Nyaho, Sally Pinkas, and Fred Haas. His performance style has a heavy influence from the African musicianship of Kenn Kafui and Hafiz Shabazz.
He is a Music/Electrical Engineering graduate of Dartmouth College (USA) where he won the Gerald Tracey Memorial Classical Piano Competition in 1989. In 1987 he received the Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) diploma for piano performance. He took his A-level and O-level examinations at Achimota School in 1986 and 1984.
